The FOR ARCH 2011 Trade Fair is definitely approaching and it has obtained another interesting support, this time from the International Conference “Non-conventional resources of electrical energy” which is organised by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication, Brno University of Technology. The 32nd edition of this international conference will take place on 5-7 September 2011 in the premises of SPORT V-Hotel, Hrotovice.
After the end of this conference, the experts specialised in non-conventional energy will move to Prague where they are to present the following
matters of interest within the framework of their lectures held on the occasion of the FOR ARCH Trade Fair:
- Petr Bača: Possibilities of accumulation of electrical energy from renewable resources,
- Bača Petr: Global warming and influences of human activities,
- Petr Křivík: Most frequently used accumulators for power applications.

Organisers: Technological Centre of the Academy of Science of the Czech Republic, in cooperation with ABF
On 22 September 2011 from 10:30 to 15:00 hrs, a specialised workshop entitled “New materials and technologies for low-energy and passive houses” organised by the Technological Centre of the Academy of Science of the Czech Republic will be held. The seminar will be focused especially on innovations in the field of materials and technologies for low-energy constructions, presentations will be provided by representatives of small and medium-size Czech enterprises with a significant innovative potential. A part of the lectures will be dedicated also to the philosophy of low-energy constructions and to the legislative framework of the low-energy and passive constructions in the Czech Republic. After the end of the lecture part it will be possible to hold informal meetings and discussions of all the seminar participants.

YOUNG ARCHITECT AWARD 2011
Prize for young and novice architects
The aim of the architectonic competition is to help the students and young architects (under 33 years old) to find their place on the
current architectonic stage, to make the general public familiar with current architecture and to support the public discussion about
architecture. And last but not least, the competition will help to map the work of novice architects.The patron of the competition is Martin Rajniš.

21 - 23 September 2011 / COMPETITION PRESENTATION OF CRAFTS AND TRADES - SUSO
Final round of the 15th edition
Place of the event: Exhibition Centre Prague Letnany, Hall 1This in a non-commercial project which has been organised by the ABF company in cooperation with its partners for the long period of fifteen years. Local selection rounds of the competition are held in the course of the school year all over the Czech Republic, within the framework of accompanying programmes at building trade fairs and exhibitions. Young bricklayers and joiners of the second years of building technical schools compete and present their crafts and skills in the environment of an international competition. Practical as well as theoretical assignment of competition tasks are prepared by experts from practice, especially from the number of partner firms and guilds. The winners of individual rounds go to the final round which takes place every year at the FOR ARCH Trade Fair. The announcement of the competition winners is accompanied by the speech of the competition patron - Actor Jan Antonín Duchoslav alias Viki Cabadaj from the film “Sněženky a machři”.
Project aims:
By popularisation and media promotion of building branches to increase the interest of both the public and future craftsmen in building apprenticeship branches on the one hand, and to get the business sphere involved on the other hand, while building up a wide base of skilled craftsmen together with schools all over the Czech Republic.

Prague will again host expositions, advisory events and seminars focused on passive houses. Interesting lectures on energy saving wood constructions are prepared for both the general public and experts at the FOR ARCH 2011 Trade Fair for 23 and 24 September. The general public and experts can look forward to the seminar entitled “Passive houses – Why and how”, where they can learn how to build a high-quality passive wood construction, why and how to ventilate in buildings, how to deal with air-tightness of passive houses and comparison of prices of passive and classical houses.
During the Friday morning seminar “News from the field of passive houses” you will have a possibility to see presentations of the firms from the Passive House Centre Association. Each of them will introduce, in a 15-minute presentation, its area of activities and the most important innovations which you can meet at the Trade Fair.
During the entire time of the Trade Fair the visitor will be able to see the exposition of the Passive House Platform which is operated by the Passive House Centre Association. You will find there not only the exhibiting members of the Association - Saint-Gobain Isover CZ, VELOX-WERK, ATREA, VALA DŘEVOSTAVBY, Knauf Insulation, RECIFA and their products suitable for construction of passive houses – but also an advisory place with experts who can advise you with your projects of energy-saving houses. Saturday 24 September 2011 is dedicated to future investors and builders of family houses. Aleš Brotánek in his presentation held from half past ten at the seminar “How people live in a passive house” will make the interested visitors familiar with general issues and will speak about the basic aspects of the passive standard, including a presentation of the houses already built. The final part of the event will be focused on passive house owners who are to share their experience with living in a passive house with the seminar participants. They will compare the situation with conventional houses, will describe the advantages of such a living style as well as any possible problems which they could meet during the construction process or during the use of the house.
